1.   Summary

This product bulletin announces the availability of the NetApp NFS Client Agent v5.0 for VCS on a Solaris™ operating system platform (both Sparc and x64).

The NetApp NFS Client Agent v5.0 for VCS (NFS agent) is a tool that works with NetApp storage systems running Data ONTAP® software that are used in a Veritas™ Cluster Server (VCS) environment. In this environment, the clustered hosts connect with the shared storage on single or clustered NetApp storage systems over the Network File System (NFS). With the NFS agent, you can use the storage capability of a NetApp storage system to have an IP-based solution without an external shared SCSI or FCP disk.

This version 1.1 replaces the initial version of the announcement correcting a mistake for FAS6xxx instead of FAS6xx as in the initial version.

2.   What’s New

The NFS agent v5.0 has the same functionality as v3.1. The following support is added in this new release:

• Support for x64 architecture
• Support for VCS v5.0
• Support for local zone for Solaris 10 (VCS v5.0 Maintenance Pack 1 for Sparc)
• Support for Data ONTAP MultiStore® feature
